Scholar’s
App
Student
and the parents of students may submit entries to the Patriot’s Pen and Voice
of Democracy programs using Scholar’s App. Scholar’s App is a platform designed to connect students to scholarship
Opportunities.
In the
past, we have observed some difficulties that students and parents have
experienced with Scholar’s App. To help relieve some of those concerns, we have
prepared the documents below.
Each
student must have their own, unique Scholar’s App Account. That means that each student must have their
own email address. Parents must also
have a unique email address. One parent
account may be tied to multiple students if a family has more than one student
eligible for these programs.
Patriot’s Pen (6th – 8thgrades only):

Do
not use school email address. Responses
to these email addresses tend to go to spam folder.
·
Use
home preferred email address for students, email address that is monitored by
the parents.
·
If
a student does not have a preferred email, and the parents do not want to
create one, then the parent can use following work around:

Parents
email account – george.wygant@yahoo.com
·
Student
1 account: george.wygant@yahoo.com+matthew(First name)
·
Student
2 account: goerge.wygant@yahoo.com+andrew(First name)
·
Student
3 account: george.wygant@yahoo.com+kimberly(First name) etc.
This
approach only works for Patriot’s Pen participants. Voice of Democracy participants must have their
own email address (Do not use school email address)
We have
heard from parents, with concerns about the types of profile question used; to
determine eligibility for other scholarships, available based on the profile
questions. Questions in the "About Me”
portion of the account registration process can be skipped. Many questions have the options of "Other” or
"Prefer Not to Answer”
